A medium weight fabric with a slubby texture which is due to the the shorter yarn lengths used in silk noil. The fabric is beautifully saturated, breathable and sews as easily as cotton. It's a durable fabric that can be used for all sorts of garments from shirts to skirts, pants to lightweight jackets.
Noil is woven from the shorter fibers of silk so it has a matte, slightly rough texture (like some linens). It is stronger than cotton, surprisingly soft and has a lovely drape.
How to Care:
You can hand wash or use a gentle machine wash cycle. Be sure to use a detergent without bleach because bleach will break down silk fibers. Hang dry or lay flat to dry. Please note that darker colors may fade more quickly with washing.
