The Hanbok is a traditional Korean dress that is typically worn for special occasions like festivals and celebrations. Inspired by the traditional Hanbok, this pattern is for a modern wrap dress that is both easy to make and comfortable to wear.

Size Range: XS - 3XL (Please refer to the size chart)

Please note : We have a detailed step-by-step sewalong video on our YouTube Channel so we did not attach any photos/illustrations in these instructions.

Our pattern is designed to be made with light to medium weight woven fabrics such as linen, cotton, silk, and other seasonal woven fabrics. We recommend avoiding fabrics that are too stiff or heavy as they they may not feel comfortable and could be too heavy for this dress.

Confident beginner / Intermediate

Pre-wash and dry all your fabrics as this will prevent your garment from shrinking. We recommend you read the instructions thoroughly before sewing.

1. Lightweight Fusible Interfacing : 0.5 yards
2. Cotton Ribbon for Inner Tie - Cut 2 (10" each)

We have kept the written instructions as simple as possible as we have created a sewalong video that takes you through each step of the process.

I got my sew-jo back!!!

After years of not touching my machine.. I followed Sara’s hack of the Dress Pattern and made the skirt! I used some matte black satin and it was gorgeous when it was done!
It came together intuitively and Sara has great Youtube tutorials!
And yes, it does come together a few hours! I have plans for denim, linen and poplin!!
Get it now and make it immediately!!
Well done Sara!!

Lovely Hanbok dress!

I haven't sewn the dress yet, I'm waiting for the fabric that I bought in the online store “les coupons Saint Pierre” sorry for not buying the fabrics in your store, but as I live in France and this store is cheaper for me 😉. I love your pattern models, as soon as I have the dress ready I will show you. Greetings from France. Merci beaucoup vos si jolis modèles de patrons. Bonjour de France 🇫🇷

Easy to understand and the YouTube is amazing!

Simple pattern with clear instructions! Also really like the different options for printing or projecting the pattern pieces built in to the files you recieve. I bought this as a gift for my mom, since she loved all the pics of the Hanbok Wrap skirt she saw online - and the instructional video this pattern links too has instructions for how to modify the dress pieces into the skirt pattern, so you really get dress + skirt + wrap jacket from this pattern.
I will say, if you print it at home in A4 format (like I did), take care to do a test sheet with the measurement-square to figure your printer settings to get the right scale
